Funding & engagement pathways

Engage with the SIDS Centre of Excellence

The CoE is built on multistakeholder partnerships and regionally grounded collaboration, with dedicated engagement channels for governments, donors, private sector, academia, and civil society.

Funding is leveraged to establish diversified, scalable financing from multilateral and bilateral donors, private-sector partnerships, philanthropic capital and CSR initiatives, and Innovative finance tools (green/blue bonds, MPTFs).

The CoE will support national efforts to unlock access to development and climate finance through fiduciary capacity-building and technical assistance.

Funding and Engagement Pathways

The Centre of Excellence welcomes meaningful engagement from governments, donors, the private sector, academia, and civil society. As a shared global resource for all SIDS, the CoE offers multiple avenues for partners to contribute expertise, finance, and innovation toward the collective goal of strengthening island resilience.

How Partners Can Engage

Entities interested in supporting the Centre may engage through structured pathways designed to match their strategic priorities and capacities:

Strategic Funding Partnerships
The Global Data Hub empowers SIDS to track their own development, strengthen national data systems, and ensure global policy decisions reflect accurate, island-driven evidence.
Programmatic and Thematic Support
Organizations can target funding or technical support across four pillars—Data, Innovation & Technology, Investment, and Debt Sustainability—to align priorities and accelerate impact in digital transformation, climate resilience, private-sector growth, and financial sustainability.
Private-Sector Collaboration and Co-Investment
Private-sector actors may engage through co-investment opportunities, blended-finance arrangements, CSR initiatives, and innovation partnerships.
Academic, Research, and Civil Society Collaboration
Universities, think tanks, and civil society organizations may engage through research partnerships, knowledge-sharing, joint training initiatives, and participation in the CoE’s communities of practice.

A Platform for Impact

Through these engagement pathways, funders and partners become part of a globally significant initiative designed to unlock climate and development finance, strengthen national systems, and drive island-led solutions at scale.

The Centre welcomes expressions of interest from all entities committed to advancing a more secure, prosperous, and sustainable future for SIDS.
