engaged and supporting partners

COE Partners and Working Group

Several partners have been engaged in the operationalization of the SIDS COE from its conceptualization, including the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), PVBLIC Foundation, International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED); United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and the Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) and the SIDS-Unit of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA). All partners have engaged in weekly working-group meetings and drawn on their unique technical expertise to support the operationalization of the COE.

OHRLLS has been a key partner in supporting the SIDS COE from its inception and has engaged an expert consultant to lead the development of a comprehensive project document, outlining the governance, resource mobilization, and monitoring and evaluation framework of the COE, in close consultation with all partners. Going forward, OHRLLS will continue to work closely with Member States, development partners, and the wider UN system to mobilize financing, expertise, technology, and capacity support to help the Centre realize its full potential as a catalyst for resilient prosperity across all SIDS. As part of efforts to ensure the COE is closely aligned with existing initiatives, the Island Investment Forum of the COE will be launched at the biennial SIDS Global Business Network (GBN), organized by OHRLLS, which will be held in the Maldives in 2026, and form the basis for future collaboration between both initiatives.
